Lift pits are among the most difficult areas to waterproof in any building. Formed in reinforced concrete and frequently situated well below the water table, they are subject to hydrostatic pressure from all sides and must remain completely dry to protect lift machinery, electrical equipment and safety systems.
Lainton Services Limited specialises in the structural waterproofing of new and existing lift pits using CSSW-certified surveyors and installers. We work across new-build, refurbishment and emergency remedial projects, providing solutions appropriate to the level of water ingress and the constraints of the working environment.
Prior to any lift pit waterproofing installation, we carry out a detailed inspection of the pit to assess the concrete substrate, identify the source and extent of any water ingress, and confirm the appropriate system specification. In active-leak situations, an emergency stop-leak programme is agreed with the client before the main works proceed.
All installations are inspected at key stages by our CSSW-accredited project manager, and a completion certificate is issued on handover confirming the system installed, materials used and any ongoing maintenance requirements.
